Also a geek so Dr Who, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, and random shows. Oh, and I like Kpop/Kdramas. Don't ask how I got into it..it was years ago and I can't escape. :-) So...expect to see some Asian people on here sometimes (mainly Han Geng/Suju) and some fandom drama.
Beware of the man of one book
A lot of people say they feel sorry for Ali, but for me I feel sorry for Korea and Asians in general. The gap between Asians and non-Asians could not be wider when it comes to rape. The girl gets her jaw broken, she is beaten and raped and she goes to court and the court system says since they were no witness he gets to walk free. How often do rapes have witnesses? Does Korea has not yet being introduced to the marvel of the rape kit. DNA and police work. A lot of people are saying poor girl. Poor girl? The only person to feel pity for is the Korean people. A people who have abused the word “apology “to such an extend it really means nothing. You get raped, you apologize. You offend a fan you apologize. You take a bad picture and post it on twitter you apologize. You date and your fans don’t approve you guessed it. And the saddest thing is the culture is so warped that her own father told her to keep quiet for the rest of her life. The culture is so warped that she feels that the cure to her ills would be an apology from the rapist who brutally beat her than brutally raped her. Is that all it takes to get away with things in Korea is an apology?
It seems that Korea is one throw away from Afghanistan were women get raped and they are thrown in jail, but at least the Afghan system has the courage to at least throw the rapist in jail to. Korea has no such courage. Silence will cure all ill. Suffering is a virtue and all Koreans shall aspire to be saints. And people wonder how Korea can have the highest suicide rate than any developed culture on earth. You don’t have to look far. Korean people who wonder what is so wrong with Korea that people have to jump off building left and right around them should take a good look in the mirror. As Tori Amos found comfort in her music to deal with her pain, Ali too tried to use music and was criticized. And she will be criticized by many for not keeping silent about being raped. If divorced people are persona non-grata in Korea I can only imagine what they will do with Ali for daring to talk about her rape in such a public way

Wow. The West a bit better…but not by much sometimes…sigh.
